It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lewis Brian Crowell at the age of 78 following a long battle with dementia. Brian was born in Yarmouth, NS, the first child of Oscar Crowell and Beryl Crowell (Chetwynd).

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Merrianne Crowell (Blanchard), his two sons Sean Crowell (Laura) and Christopher Crowell (Chantal). Loving Poppa to his three grandchildren, Erin (Joe), Scott and Rebecca. Also survived by his siblings Joanne Crowell and Franklyn Crowell.

Brian led life to the fullest. He had a 23 year career in the Canadian Armed Forces which took him and his family to locations across Canada and Europe, followed by a successful career with the Federal Government.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the doctors, nurses, personal support workers and staff at Perley Health for their care and kindness over the past year.

Private interment at the Beechwood National Military Cemetery.

We loved having Brian as a worship leader in our village. The knowledge and sincerity were a strength to us and we loved the sense of humour and the giggles as well. Working with Brian as secretary when Presbytery existed was an excellent experience - he was so responsible. We miss you both down here on the south shore - our memories are strong and good.

My condolences to the Crowell family. I knew Brian since we were both young Bioscience Officers in the military in 1970. We had good memorable times together over many years, travelling to interesting places like Norway, Texas and Germany on military trips. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
