Born in Pabos Mills, Gaspesie, QC, to Edmond and Mathilda (Lantin). He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Natalie (Filipowich) and daughter Trisha (Todd). He leaves daughters Jodi (Domenic), and Monique, son-in-law Todd, grandchildren Avery, Sam, and Chris, and being one of 11, a large extended family in Quebec and across the country. At 17, he joined the RCAF. His Military Career took him first to Rivers, MB, and Brandon, when he met Nat and got married. Then it was Winnipeg, while raising a young family and attending the University of Winnipeg (Bach Economics), as part of the Debating Team and becoming the President of the Students Association. They then lived in Ottawa, Montreal, and Ottawa again, where they chose to retire. Don deeply valued family, faith, the purpose of service, and close friendships as a Knights of Columbus member, and as part of the neighborhood of Orleans. An avid reader, he loved curling, bonspiels, and BBQ’s. Was often seen jogging with their terrier mix, Cindy, and later, reading the paper outside with his coffee in the summer months, Smokey by his side. He charmed his nurses at Trillium Camilla Care in Port Credit and his laughter was infectious. Heartfelt thanks to his caretakers, Hanah and Diana, for the wonderful care on his journey home. The celebration of Don’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 8th at Beechwood Cemetery (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON) at 1pm followed by the internment and reception.

Our cousin Natalie and Don were a big part of family life in Ottawa for many years. They together were a beautiful team of love and affection to their family and all who knew them. We missed them dearly when they moved to Port Credit. Don, a beautiful man in looks and spirit, is now home with his lovely wife (and my cousin) Natalie. God Bless their reunion. We will forever miss them and the the Grenier family.
Love, David and Barbara ( and Comet our lovely Sheltie)..
