Michel passed away peacefully at the May Court Hospice in Ottawa on Friday March 1st, 2024, at the age of 74 after a year-long battle with Cancer of Unknown Primary. He remained positive and had unwavering courage throughout his journey.
Michel lived a full and rich life, whether spending time with loved ones, pursuing outdoor activities like biking, walking, skiing and skating, or exploring the world through travel. His fascination with the night sky from a young age fueled his passion for astronomy.
He is survived by his beloved wife Nicole, his brother René and his sister-in-law Donna. He will also be sadly missed by many family members and friends. Born in Cornwall, he was the son of the late Berthe and Maurice Desjardins.
The decision to hold a private Celebration of Life reflects Michel's wish to be remembered rather than mourned.
May Michel’s spirit live on in our hearts, and for some of us, may we find solace in the cherished memories we shared with him. Heaven has just received another beautiful soul and shinning star, which bears witness to the lasting impression Michel leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Michel to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Hospice Care Ottawa would be greatly appreciated.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Michel. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts during this difficult time.
