Wadih Sawma, cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved patriarch, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the age of 94. He was the loving husband of Antoinette (née Radi) and the proud father of Hélène (the late Khouchaba Youmaran), Joseph (Siham), Randa (Nadim Ibrahim), Michel (Vickie), Nicolas (Edith), Amal, and Fadia (Charles Boutros). Wadih leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion as the grandfather of 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Born on January 1, 1930, Wadih lived a life defined by his dedication to family and faith. He was known for his unwavering kindness, gentle spirit, and generous heart. His presence brought joy and comfort to all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished by his relatives, nieces, and nephews both near and far, especially in his homeland of Lebanon.
Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave., on Saturday, March 30th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service honoring Wadih's life will be held in the Sacred Space at 2:00 p.m., followed by interment.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Wadih's memory to Saint Charbel Parish, a cause dear to his heart.
Wadih Sawma will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by his love and compassion. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal light of God's grace.
