With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Ashley on Wednesday December 13, 2023, at the age of 39. Surrounded by her loving parents, Daniel and Cheryl, her sister Robyn and fiancé Chris, Ashley’s suffering has finally ended.
Ashley was always a fighter, never giving up. Starting with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12, Ashley dealt with serious medical issues her entire life. From early on to her greatest battle with metastatic breast cancer in March 2023, she never quit the fight.
She underwent many types of treatment to beat this horrific disease and did so with bravery, integrity and grace. She so desperately wanted more time with her family and friends (as we all did, too), and was willing to undergo more chemotherapy, radiation and other treatments to continue fighting.
Ashley’s memory will live on through her parents, sister, future brother-in-law, extended family, friends, and her soon-to-be nephew.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ashley on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, ON. The Celebration will begin at 10:00 am with a service for family and friends to share memories, followed by a reception.
The family kindly requests donations to the Diabetes Association of Canada and/or to Breast Cancer Canada, instead of flowers.
Gone too soon, but never forgotten.

Dear Cheryl, memories come flooding back from the time when you and I were around Ashley's age, sharing laughs and concerns about our little children. Your beloved Ashley sounds as if she was a lot like you, a strong woman of determination with a ready laugh and a warm smile! You always 'kept the boat afloat' in SCN and it certainly sounds as if Ashley did the same throughout her own career. Heartfelt condolences to you and your family. May treasured memories be of comfort to you now and always. I know that the arrival of Robyn and Chris' little fellow will bring joy back into your lives and that, somehow, Auntie Ashley will watch over him.
