It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Yves Cousineau, a beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather on November 25th, 2023, at the age of 62, after bravely facing a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Yves will be lovingly remembered by his wife Peggy (Schwartz) who was his best friend, high school sweetheart and love of his life of 44 years. They enjoyed a peaceful life in Beacon hill, in their warm welcoming home, oasis backyard surrounded by their children, grandbabies and family.
He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by his children Jonathan (Kayla) and Jessica (Joey). He took great pride in his role of grandfather (Papa) to Rylie, Brooklyn, Avery, Skylair, Viola, Barrett, Anna, and Josephine. His grandchildren could always count on Papa to lovingly mend their broken toys and was never without spare batteries or a big bear hug. He loved making them laugh and helping them explore building things, art and other shared creative interests.
Yves had passion and dedication for his profession and worked hard throughout his career forming many cherished connections with clients and colleagues that will mourn his absence.
Throughout his brief stay in the hospital, he teased, cracked jokes, made silly faces with his family, grown children, grandchildren, as well as with the nurses and doctors. His abilities to make other smile and laugh with his sense of humor and warm heart will be very much missed.
Yves is survived by his sisters Linda Tremblay (Denis), Celine Pjontek (Bob) and brother Stive Simard (Sue). He was predeceased by his sister Josee. He will also be dearly missed by Peggy’s family who cherished their many decades with him sharing so many laughs and great memories.
Yves’ presence in the world will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, December 8th, 2023 at Beechwood Cemtery (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON) from 1-3pm.
In memoriam the family requests that donations be made to a Cheo Foundation helping support children with Cancer or the Canadian Cancer Society in Pancreatic Cancer Research. Either would be greatly appreciated.
