It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Yves Cousineau, a beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather on November 25th, 2023, at the age of 62, after bravely facing a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Yves will be lovingly remembered by his wife Peggy (Schwartz) who was his best friend, high school sweetheart and love of his life of 44 years. They enjoyed a peaceful life in Beacon hill, in their warm welcoming home, oasis backyard surrounded by their children, grandbabies and family.
He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by his children Jonathan (Kayla) and Jessica (Joey). He took great pride in his role of grandfather (Papa) to Rylie, Brooklyn, Avery, Skylair, Viola, Barrett, Anna, and Josephine. His grandchildren could always count on Papa to lovingly mend their broken toys and was never without spare batteries or a big bear hug. He loved making them laugh and helping them explore building things, art and other shared creative interests.
Yves had passion and dedication for his profession and worked hard throughout his career forming many cherished connections with clients and colleagues that will mourn his absence.
Throughout his brief stay in the hospital, he teased, cracked jokes, made silly faces with his family, grown children, grandchildren, as well as with the nurses and doctors. His abilities to make other smile and laugh with his sense of humor and warm heart will be very much missed.
Yves is survived by his sisters Linda Tremblay (Denis), Celine Pjontek (Bob) and brother Stive Simard (Sue). He was predeceased by his sister Josee. He will also be dearly missed by Peggy’s family who cherished their many decades with him sharing so many laughs and great memories.
Yves’ presence in the world will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, December 8th, 2023 at Beechwood Cemtery (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON) from 1-3pm.
In memoriam the family requests that donations be made to a Cheo Foundation helping support children with Cancer or the Canadian Cancer Society in Pancreatic Cancer Research. Either would be greatly appreciated.

It is with a huge, heavy heart that I write this about a friend, a co-worker and most importantly a man that reminded me of the importance of family, a balanced life and how to laugh easily.
We can all get caught up in our work, but Yves was so good about ensuring he made time for his family. He was a machine at work as probably one of the best estimators I have ever worked with, but come our Monday morning meeting he would start with an update on his family and especially the grand kids……..and then work.
On behalf of everyone at Expozone we will miss Yves and his infectious humour, sometimes sarcasm and most importantly that infectious smile. Peggy and family, we are so sorry for the loss of Yves, we are all going to miss him dearly.

Our sincerest condolences to Yves’ family, friends and colleagues - our hearts are broken and he will be missed greatly. Yves loved his family dearly as he spoke often of the latest news and he would also make sure to ask about ours. We loved working with Yves from his years at CGEC, Expo Zone (1) and Expo Zone (2) as he was always the consummate professional and highly respected throughout the exhibition industry. Over the past few years, Yves would always remind us that he was done at noon on Fridays because after a long week it was time to prep for family. His humour was infectious and his smile would light up your day - two things we will always remember.

Our sincerest condolences Peggy to you and your family at this difficult time. We were shocked to have heard the saddened news about Yves. Words cannot explain what you are experiencing right now. Yves will always be remembered to us as a person with an infectious smile and laugh. I will never forget when he made me laugh so hard on my wedding day.
No one can ever replace the amazing person that he was. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I've known of Yves for a very long time but only had the pleasure of working with him for three short months. And in that time I've had the pleasure of sharing belly laughs, good debates and even a rant or two. He was a very special authentic human being. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family.

My dear cousin Peggy and all of your family,
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this… we are shocked and so sad to hear about Yves. It’s so unfair and way too soon. I always will remember him for his big smile, joking and good nature. Especially how he made you and us all smile and laugh too. You are all in our prayers and thoughts.

My deepest condolences to Peggy, Jon, Jess and the rest of the family. Yves you were the best business partner anyone could hope for. For me you were much more - someone to look up to as a brother and a best friend. It hurts to imagine the world without you. Your sudden departure is a tremendous lost. May you find peace with God and be an Angel for all of us. Love you forever ...

With deepest sympathy to Peggy, children, grand children and family. Though we cannot ease the sorrow of the loss that you must bear for your husband/papa, we hope that you’ll be comforted by knowing your neighbours care. He surely will be missed!
God rest you Yves, you taught me much, lessons I will benefit from for years. I have so many good memories of working with you and will remember your enthusiasm and spirit when i need a pick me up.
