Passed away peacefully in Ottawa on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the Riverpath Retirement Residence; age 79 years. She was the loving mother of Silvina Almeida and cherished grandmother of Olivier León Young. Henriette will also be sadly missed by many friends met while growing up and living most of her life in Ottawa, working in the Government of Canada, and her time in Brazil. She has built many lifelong friendships and made special friends and memories throughout different times of her life and travels. Her friends will be remembered forever in her heart. Henriette se souviendra toujours de ses très chères amies.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the caring staff of Riverpath Retirement Residence for providing such dedicated and comfortable care to Henriette in her time with them.
Henriette has shown much strength and courage fighting hard against her Parkinson’s Disease of 15 years. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory towards Parkinson’s Canada.
Family and friends are invited to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, for a Graveside Service at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Reception from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Silvina and Olivier our hearts go out to you both. Henriette was a proud mother and doting grand-maman. Her sparkling eyes and beautiful smile will live on through you both. I so enjoyed hearing her stories about Brazil, talking about food and travels. She loved attending Olivier's birthday parties and watching him have fun with his friends. Henriette will always be a part of our happy memories when we lived in Ottawa.

I would always remember Henriette as she was so gentle, clever and loving person. I thank her for being so special with my daugther Emma, during endles playtime with Olivier. I wish I could have been by Olivier and Silvina's side all this past time, to hug them and give them my love and support. I have the best memories of Canada and in all of them Henriette is present, as a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Silvi, the love and dedication to your mother have always been admirable and I cherish you for that.
