Peacefully on May 21, 2023, at St Vincent Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 94. Perley was born in Lawrence Tavern, Jamaica, in 1928, and known to many as Miss Pearl.  She and her family came to Canada from Kingston and settled in Ottawa in 1974.  She was a long-term employee of the former Carleton Towers Hotel (now the Sheraton) and maintained many friendships with co-workers after her retirement.  Her neighbourliness and love of gardening is still spoken of by many on her old street in Convent Glen as well as her last residence at the Promenade in Orleans.

She will be lovingly remembered by her pickneys Warren Chang Fong (Jill), Sharon Aldworth, (Marc) and Michael Chang Fong (Wendy), as well as her grandchildren Kayla, Stephen (Olivia), Tonya, Bryanne, and Kelly.  She will also remain in the memories and prayers of family members Keith (Margaret), Dorothy, Isabella (Ian), and Lita (Tony) and other friends and relatives.

Perley will join close family members Albert and Lyn as well as granddaughter Karly in rest at Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa at a time to be announced. Many thanks to the staff at St Vincent for their wonderful care over the past years. Donations may be directed to the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.  If you wish to otherwise honour her memory, plant a flower, a colourful one.
