It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Helen St Denis on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023, at the age of 63 years.
Helen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Guy; children, Christine, Alex (Amanda) and Dominic; siblings, Mark (Anna), Teresa (Jim), and Philip; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She will also be dearly missed by her friends at Stilo and Douvris Martial Arts.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joyce and Jeffrey.
Helen was born in Shifnal, UK, on May 8, 1959, and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1969. She was a warm, caring, hilarious, and fierce wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for her dry sense of humour, her generosity, how she always prioritized people over things, her incredible cooking, her dedication and perseverance in Karate, and her ability to quote books and recipes off the top of her head.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at The Ottawa Hospital, General Campus for their care and compassion.
The family will receive family and friends at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa, on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Parish, 1940 Saunderson Drive, on Friday, February 10 at 11am. Reception to follow.
In memory of Helen, donations to the Ottawa Humane Society, the Ottawa Food Bank, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Helen was an avid runner and I would say hello to her nearly every day as she ran in front of my house in Sheffield Glen. I always admired her discipline and perseverance. As a fellow parishioner, my thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

Helen was truly one a kind. Her karate family will miss her immensely. She was a constant at our dojo for so many years. I always admired her perseverance, dedication and positive attitude she brought to every class (and believe me she attended a lot of classes!) Both myself and our dojo will miss her dearly. Thinking of her wonderful family during this difficult time
