We sadly announce the passing of Margaret Marie Wright on January 27, 2023 at the age of 89. Born nearby in Smiths Falls ON, Marie had a well-traveled life with her husband Ken who served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. She originally trained as a nurse at Kingston General Hospital, but she left her career behind to support her husband and to look after her family. Wherever they were posted, she always made sure that it felt like home. Marie also had extraordinary hostess skills, especially during their numerous postings to Virginia, where she represented Canada with the highest of standards and fostered many friendships with military members and their spouses from the United States and Europe.
Marie will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son Jeff (Carol Wright), her daughter Leesa (James Tanner), her three granddaughters Holly (Kevin Charlebois), Ashley (Travis LaBelle) and Kelly Tanner, and her great-grandson Oliver LaBelle. Marie was predeceased by Ken less than a year ago, but it is hoped that the two of them are together once again, swinging golf clubs, walking the beach and gardening, just as they always enjoyed doing in their younger years.
We would like to thank the staff at the Chapel Hill Retirement Residence for their care and support, especially the personal support workers, the nursing staff and Dr Skaff who made her final weeks as comfortable as possible. There will be a private interment at Beechwood Cemetery on May 18th 2023, followed by a celebration of life luncheon with friends and family at a local restaurant. In honour of Marie, donations can be made to CNIB or a charity of your choice.

Dad misses his chats with both his cousin Marie and Ken.
First cousins, they remained close regardless of physical distance.
Deanna feels fortunate to have been included in get togethers and shared time with this elegant couple.
Thanks for Grandfather McCaw's snowshoes.
Blessings to Leese, Jeff and family.

Ken andMarie had been neighbours of ours for over 15 years and during that time my late husband Jack and I spent many an hour with them talking about anything and everything.Marie gave me some of her recipes and every time I make one of them it brings back special memories of them both. RIP Marie and Ken. P.S. Marie... When you catch up with Jack and Ken please give them a hug from me.
We spent many hours chatting on the phone with Ken & Marie and visited with them at every opportunity since they moved back from down east. R.I.P Marie and please say hi to Ken from us.
