Passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital in his 81st year on January 9, 2023 surrounded by his family. Loving husband of 59 years to Jean (nee DiFlorio). Beloved father of Laurie (Don) and Heather. Proud grandfather of Shane (Grace) and Mae (Michael).
Jerry was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Infantry in 1962 and retired in 1996. He served with the Canadian Guards, the Canadian Airborne Regiment and The Royal Canadian Regiment in Canada, USA, Germany, Cyprus, and as Defence Attache to Mexico, Central America and Cuba.
He and his family had several postings in Canada, Germany, Virginia, and Mexico providing adventures and cherished memories wherever they went.
An officer and a gentleman known for his quick wit and great sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and comrades-in-arms.
At Jerry's request, a private family burial will take place at Beechwood National Military Cemetery.
