On September 5th, 2022, Terry Mavis, passed away peacefully at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 67.

Terry is predeceased by his parents Cliff Mavis and Jeannine (Quesnel), as well as his sister Joanne. He is survived by his son Scott, as well as his brothers and sisters, Chris (Normand), Debbie (Eric), Cliff (Joanne) and Steven.

Terry is fondly remembered by many generations of his nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

Over the years, Terry had many pets whom he loved very much. His parrot Chloe brought him great love and comfort especially during the many years that he struggled with chronic pain. They had an unbreakable bond and she is already missing him.

Terry had a passion for sports and would often organize family and friend bowling or baseball to get us all together.

Special thank you to the staff at the Ottawa Hospital for their compassionate care.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Friday, September 16 from 3 p.m. at KS on the Keys Restaurant, 1029 Daze Street, Ottawa, ON, K1V 2G3 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, in memory, donations can be made to Little Ray's Nature Centre (www.littlerays.org).

I am glad I got to meet him and enjoy his wry sense of humour. God has finally taken away all of his pain and left his joy, love and beautiful memories for his family. My condolences to his family.

I’m glad I got to meet Terry and enjoyed his wry sense of humour in his final days. God has done what the doctors couldn’t. He took away his pain and left all of his family with the great memories of his love, joy and humour. My condolences to his family and all who loved him.
