Henderson was born on November 11, 1950, in Bridgetown, Barbados. He was a very quiet and private person, never sharing much about himself. In his youth he studied and became a Certified Electrician and stayed in this field for a short period of time. He then changed his career path and studied Accounting and Auditing and became a Forensic Internal Auditor, with professional qualifications [ACCA, CIA, CISA, CCSA]. He worked in this field until his retirement.

Henderson loved to entertain, having at home parties with all his friends. He loved his music, his clothes and his cars. Always the best for him! He was a lover of cruising, travelling, visiting many places and enjoying the various lifestyles, diverse cultures and the beauty of the countries he visited.

He was an avid Walker. A member of the Walkers Club in Barbados and Canada, walking many trails, hills and completing many marathons. He was also a passionate player of lawn tennis and an avid gardener.

Always "there" for anyone, to lend a helping hand. He had a big and kind heart and will always be remembered for this.

Henderson departed his beautiful family, friends and world on April 4, 2022, after succumbing to pancreatic cancer. He outlived his original preliminary diagnosis of 3-6 months and survived for 3 years.

He leaves behind his beautiful wife, Donna, and daughter, Rudonna. He will always be remembered and truly missed by them, his siblings and their spouses, nieces and nephews, in-laws, friends and associates. Henderson had a wonderful, memorable, and diverse life.

A memorial service will be held on May 13, 2022, at 1:30pm at the gravesite at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and memoriams, Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated.

Dear Donna, Rudi and Henderson’s family, please accept our deepest and heartfelt condolences at the loss of Henderson.

I met Henderson (“Hendy”) in Barbados many, many years ago while on holiday with my brother Holly. My lasting memory of that time was when Henry took a group of us on a hair-raising ride in a jeep through a part of Barbados we did not know existed to visit his Mum.

Hendy was a very caring person. I will never forget when my brother Eyre died in 2009 he could not come to the UK but he asked his sister Maureen to travel to the UK to represent him at the funeral. Thank you Maureen.

The last time Winston and I saw Hendy was in 2017 when he visited the UK with Donna, Rudi and members of his family. He had travelled on the QE2 to Southampton. We had a wonderful lunch at the Casuarina Tree Restaurant in Mitcham.

Hendy was an extraordinary person and fought a good fight. He will be missed but never forgotten by the numerous friends whose lives he touched in the very best way.

We end by saying the following words:

“Hendy you have gone from our sight but never from our hearts”. R.I.P.

Henderson was one of a kind. A quiet and wise man.
It was our privilege to be called

Dear Hendy,
From the first time we met, your gentle and kind soul stood out:

Your reserved nature, never preventing your attraction of so so many friends and loved ones.
Your heart-felt and contagious laugh, lighting up any room that you enter.
Your knack to tease your friends in the best way possible, showing how much you love them.
Your sweet, soft and warm handshake, communicating so clearly your collegial feelings.
Your eternal gratitude, showing all of us that happiness is right here, right now.

Thank you for coming by a few nights ago, for a dreamy visit, just to say hi.
I feel so blessed that you did so, once again - just as you crossed my path, decades ago.

Continue watching over your beloved Donna and Rudie, giving them strength and courage…
See you later, my friend!
Gerry

It was a comfort to have a brother that everyone loved, my family and I will miss him immensely. although we never grew up together it was as though we had.
I pray and hope that he accepted Christ as his personal savior as the worldly things that we accomplish only seem to matter for a short time on earth.
Donna and Ruddy may God comfort you in your grief.
