It is with profound sadness that the family of Donald Herbert Mumby, born November 17, 1939 in Lethbridge, Alberta, announce his peaceful passing on April 18, 2022.

Donald will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 59 years Marion, who was always by his side.  He was a dedicated father to his daughter Ruth Ann (Steve) Sullivan and his son Dale (Wendy), loving grandfather to Mark (Maryse), Katie (Jordan), Tyanna, Donald, and Declan and great grandfather to Colby, Florence, Eloise, and Gabriel.

Donald is survived by his brother Larry (Aleta) and sister Carol (Larry) Blenner-Hassett.

Donald joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1958 and retired as a Chief Superintendent following a 35 year career that he loved. Donald was also a proud Mason and served as the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada in 2003-2005. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave., Vanier, ON on April 26, 2022.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with a Service following at 1:00pm.  The Celebration of Life; with the exclusion of the Masonic Service will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Donald Herbert Mumby’s name to the Orleans United Church, The Tunis Shriners, or a charity of their choice.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Montfort Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Donald.

Dear Marion, please accept my most sincere condolences for the lost of your loving partner. So many good memories of our yearly Mumbi's reunion. I hope in time the love of you children and your friends will help you fill the large hole you feel in our life by his passing.

It is very sad to lose such a fine person who gave so much of himself for the betterment of others. I will miss you my dear brother. Our condolences to the family at this difficult time. May you find comfort in the many good memories of his life.

Marion to you and your family our deepest sympathy on Don’s passing. He will be greatly missed by family, his Masonic family and Tunis Shriners members who knew him. He will be remembered for his enthusiasm for Masonary and the shrine. He was a a great person to know.
