With deepest sorrow, we announce that Wayne King, age 54, our most beloved son, husband, brother, family member and friend passed away suddenly on Saturday March 26, 2022 peacefully with his family around him at the General Hospital.

Wayne was born in Montreal, Quebec to the parents of Late Gordon King and Patrica King. He will be missed every day by his loving mother, Patricia King, wife Patricia Rubio, sister Charlene King, brother Kenneth King, niece Kyhanna Giffin, nephew, Michael Purdon, many aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.

We know Wayne is with his father, Gordon King and his paternal and maternal grandparents. He is without pain and is now resting on God’s arm.

Those who know Wayne, even just a little, lost a shining star in their lives. The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Wayne. He loved hanging out with his dog, Bernie. That dog was always by his side. In recent years, he passed his time making personalized candles and wood burning art for his family and friends. He was a lover of food, loved to create his own creations in the kitchen. He had spent his summers playing softball. He always kept his years of playing in North Gower close to his heart. His other passions were kayaking and riding his motorbike.

He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Family, friends and others who lives touched Wayne are invited to Beechwood's Sacred Space, 280 Beechwood Avenue Ottawa, ON, (613-741-9530) for Wayne's Funeral Service on Saturday, April 9 at 10 a.m., with a reception to follow.

I’m so Happy to hear that Wayne was loved by so many while he walked the planet. Although I left our relationship languish in the dust of life goes on, I have many, many times spoke his name over 40 years when talking with others about Best Friends…I was gifted his friendship when we met in Otterburn Park, specifically, Grade 6, Apple Valley Catholic School. It was only the second time I didn’t live on a Military Base as my father was in the Air Force. Wayne and his friend Mark Hendricks were the first two people to welcome me to the school. The three of us spent countless hours together including playing for the Otterburn Raiders Football Club. I distinctly remember Wayne & Kenny’s MOM & my heart goes out to Her & I would like thank Patricia for everything I learned from Wayne that he learned from You. Thanks to you and your family I learned lessons at such an early age that they stuck for 40 years so that I still speak of Wayne King as how I Learned What a Best Friend Is!
P.S.
yes I am ashamed to not have found a way to reconnect, my only explanation is moving every 2-3 years as a kid made disconnection easy & less painful.
With Ultimate Love ❤️
Doug
