Died peacefully just shy of his 95th birthday.

A loyal, honest and humble man who could do anything he put his mind to, his greatest joy was following his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments.  His influence on their lives is immeasurable.

Henry was proud of his family heritage in Ottawa and his large extended Wright and Sherwood family.  He was loved by all he met.  As a fellow Pine Hill dog walker said “I have all the time in the world for that guy.”

He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Anna (n. Bierrum) and his children: Phoebe (Brian d.), Christina (Doug), Palmer (Isabelle) and Elisabeth (Jonathan), 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

As was his wish, there will be no visitation or service.  The family will host a celebration of his life at a later date.  In lieu of flowers we suggest donations to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind or the charity of your choice.

My toddler daughter was cared for by Isabelle Wright. I remember how Henry Wright took to patiently "chaperoning" his young charges through barns, fields and museums. So on behalf of my daughter, now 29, thank-you Mr. Wright for your kind contribution to my daughter's education.

Please accept our condolences on the loss of your dear dad, Palmer. He sounds like a lovely man. Please remember me to Phoebe and Christina, whom I knew a little bit years ago. What a nice family your dad and mum created. We are sorry for your loss.

Henry was a mentor for me.
I would meet him often on a daily walk down the cottage road.
He was so full of life, so engaging ,
He was so genuine and positive , enjoyed life to the fullest.
I called him the God father of Walnut Point ., always looking out for all of us.
I will miss him dearly..

I will always look back fondly on the walks to the lock with him and Tess when I was a child. He was a great listener and always kept me entertained and laughing with his stories (and I still remember them!). He will be missed dearly. My sincere condolences to the Wright family.

My sympathy to all the family. When I took possession of this property from the Orrs, 24 years ago. Henry was one of the first callers to come and introduce himself and we discovered we had mutual friends and thereafter we had many visits in our homes. I will be thinking of you Anne. Fondly.
