The funeral will be livestreamed at the following link on Saturday, February 12th at 1pm - https://foveo.stream/s/__?quickJoinCode=84366&yt

Passed away peacefully and surrounded by family February 4th, two days after his 50th birthday, due to complications relating to covid. Eldest son of (the late) Evalds Jermacans and Daina Jermacans, beloved husband and best friend of Andrea Lewandowski, treasured father of Vivian Jermacans, and big brother of Andrew (Arlene), Elizabeth (James), and Laura (Skylar). He will be missed tremendously by multiple nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.

Davis will always be remembered for his quirky sense of humour, his passion for camping and gardening, his prowess in cooking and creating fermented food and drinks from scratch, his faith in God, his interest in politics and travel, and his larger-than-life love for his precious little girl. Davis was a frequent champion of his family’s annual chili competition, our top choice in the 2014 Ottawa municipal election, and in our hearts, he will forever be King Davis of the Osgoode Medieval Festival.

Friends and Family are invited to visit at Beechwood Cemetery and Funeral Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, February 10, and Friday, February 11. The Funeral Service will be held in the Sacred Space of Beechwood at 1pm on Saturday, February 12. Due to capacity restrictions, guests are invited to reserve their attendance.

Flowers are welcome, as are donations to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation or World Vision.

My heart is broken from this tragic loss but I am finding solace in my profound sadness from all of the time Davis and I got to share together growing up in the 'Hill. From the Davis Jermacans science experiment "Testing Zone" behind Breakaway Running & Fitness, to all of the high school parties, track events, harmless teenage and young adult mischief, countless journeys to downtown for 80s nights at various nightclubs and then reconnecting at each others' weddings, I have nothing but great memories of a man, friend and father with a heart of pure gold with an infectious laugh and personality that could cheer anyone up on even their darkest days. Rest In Peace Big Red!

We are saddened to hear of David's passing and we pray for and mourn with the family members and friends left behind. But we have hope that he is celebrating with his heavenly Father, free from pain, having passed from earthly death to life eternal. God bless you as you remember him.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. I was very fortunate to meet Davis during a long work training/conference several years ago and then keep up with him since then. He was a great professional and a good guy - I was lucky to have known him.

I'm a bit late hearing the news. I knew Davis when we were in our teens in Richmond Hill. We had a ton of fun driving around in his 1968 Cougar he named "The Beast" as we grew up finding our way. I lost touch shortly after his University days but I can't agree more with everybody that it was his kindness and sense of humour that made you want to be around him. I'm the same age as him and just struggling to grasp the idea of my old friend gone too soon I can't understand it. Thank you for the memories and hope to see you again in the next round.
