Mary -- Known as Abuela, Coca and Mamá to her family and friends – passed away peacefully in her 91st year. She was adored by her devoted  husband of fifty years Roberto (predeceased) with whom she raised three children: Roberto “Tito” (Lucy), Pedro (Cathy) and Mariana (Mike). Her family was the focus of her life. Mary was the beloved grandmother of David, Alicia (predeceased), Peter (Jasmine), Thomas, Tricia, Bruce, Alex, Ben and Robert. Near the end of her life she was especially fond of her great-grandson “Gabrielito.” Mary was a foodie before the term existed, never missed the gourmet club meals. Hours would be spent in the kitchen preparing food for the people she loved. In addition, she was a talented seamstress and avid gardener. She was a master canasta player. The colour red and anything chocolate were among her favourite things. She will be dearly missed and remembered for the love of family she instilled in us. Friends are invited to visit Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Friday, February 11th, 2022 at 9am, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre’s Geriatric Unit

I never met your mother. You are a wonderful person and I'm sure this reflects
the kind of mother she was to you. She sounds like a very special person with her love of red, canasta, and chocolate.
Linda and I send you, Cathy, and your family our loving thoughts at this time of your loss.
