Wreath Laying at Ottawa Cremation Memorial on Behalf of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Following the Remembrance Day ceremony at Beechwood Cemetery, Commander Sarah Birchett, Royal Navy and UK Air and Naval Adviser to Canada, honoured the fallen with a wreath-laying at the Ottawa Cremation Memorial.
The memorial commemorates Commonwealth service members who were cremated in Canada during the Second World War, and the simple act of laying a wreath reflected the deep respect shared across nations for those who served and sacrificed.
Commander Birchett’s participation highlighted the enduring connection between Canada and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, united by a shared history of service and remembrance.
