Canadians love to talk about the weather. This undoubtedly reflects the fact that we get a lot of it -- four distinct seasons with a wide variability of rain, snow, wind, and temperature. In Ottawa, temperatures of plus or minus 30 degrees Celsius are not unusual. 

Weather-loving Canadians may also be channelling their farming forebears.
