- est décédé à l’Hôpital de Hull, le mercredi 26 mars 2025 à l’âge de 67 ans. Il était l’époux bien-aimé de Josée (née Di Girolamo) ainsi que le papa adoré d’Annie (Danny Pitre) et Patrick (Vanessa Langlois). Il laisse aussi ses frères Jacques et André Bertrand.
La famille invite parents, ami(e)s et camarades à célébrer la vie de Pierre, le vendredi 6 juin 2025 à la Salle des Drapeaux du Centre commémoratif national Beechwood, 280 av Beechwood à compter de 13h. L’inhumation de l’urne avec présence militaire suivra à 15h au Cimetière national des Forces canadiennes.
Pour ceux qui le désirent, au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la Société canadienne du Cancer seraient appréciés.

I have just heard of the passing of Pete, after his incredibly courageous fight with cancer. What a warrior he has been, fueled by the love and support of family. May this wonderful man Rest In Peace, and may you and your family draw stength from one another during this difficult time.
Pete & I worked very closely with one another in the "Battle Box" as a coordination section for all CFNIS investigations in Canada and worldwide. I still talk about his encyclopedic knowledge of the Criminal Code, and all policies, regulations and case law related to the business of policing. I never won a coffee bet with Pete... on anything. If he said the information was in the book, he would instantly reach into the book and turn to the right page.
Above all else, I was struck by Pete's focus to do what was right. He was an incredible mentor to me [and likely everyone that he me, if they were smart enough to listen] and a legion of investigators in often trying circumstances. Pete was the consummate professional. He knew what right looked like and he was courageous in his convictions and resilient.
Pete--husband, father, friend, and professional--established a rare high standard that will continue to inspire through all of us who he has touched and changed.
