Passed away peacefully at the Montfort Hospital on Thursday, March 27th at the age of 94. Widow of her beloved husband, John, of 73 years. Much-loved mother to Cynthia (Mike Tinker), Mike (Karen), and Heather (Mike Gerus). Loving grandmother to Shawn, Kevin, Lindsay, Alana, and step-grandmother to Christine and James. Great-grandmother to Max, Milo, Mia and step great-grandmother to Adia, Marcus and Avalin.
Gwen was born in Minden, Ontario and was an only child who was pre- deceased by her parents William “Bill” Lindop and Ida (née Dugan). Gwen trained as a hairstylist and was known as the neighbourhood hairdresser. She loved to dance, swim, paint (oils and watercolour), and travel. She spent a few years wintering in Destin and Largo, Florida with her husband. True to her astrological sign of “Leo, the lion”, she took great pride in her family. For the last 16 years she lived at Portobello Manor where she enjoyed socializing at Happy Hour in the pub and participating in a number of activities until dementia took over.
Special thanks to all those who reached out to Mom over the years to enhance her quality of life, to dedicated staff at Portobello Manor, and also to Dr. Nicole Leblanc at the Montfort Hospital who exhibited such compassion and understanding. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In honour of Gwen, donations to the Dementia Society, Huntington Society Ottawa Chapter, or a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.

Cynthia, best wishes to you and Mike and your family. The memories that made me cry for my mum last month are making me smile now. I'm sure it will be the same for you. Love from both of us.

My sincerest condolences. Mrs. Hooper was such a good friend of my Nanny’s (Ruby Hogan), and I remember hearing about their escapades. May her memory be a blessing.

Cynthia, Mike, Heather and family,
Sending much Love and strength to you on the passing of your Mom. She was such a sweet and kind person whenever I had the pleasure of seeing her visiting your Dad at the Perley Health. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
John & I offer our deepest sympathies, and warmest thoughts. Your mom was surrounded by so much love and care. I loved hearing your stories about her, Cynthia: your visits, phone calls. I know she will be deeply missed, and only hope that the fond memories will bring you peace in your heart and soul.
