It is with deepest sympathies we announce the passing of Sylvia Irene Chapchal on 28 January 2025 at the age of 80.
Daughter of Edwin and Irene Humphreys, Sylvia was the beloved wife of Antony Richard Chapchal and loving mother of Nicholas Sergei Chapchal, Denise Clare Chapchal, Ivan Alexander Chapchal and Stephen George Chapchal.
Dear grandmother of Ethan Chapchal, Nadia Chapchal, Simeon Chapchal, Yefin Chapchal, Caterina Chapchal, Alexandra Chapchal and Lydia Phillips.
She will be missed by her extended family Elijah Phillips, Aroma Chapchal, Alexandra Chapchal (Slozha), her step grandchildren Hayden Phillips, Dylan Phillips, Yevheniia Slozha, Kseniia Slozha, her brother in law and wife, Daniel and Hillary Chapchal, as well as other family members and friends in England.
The family wishes to thank The Queensway Carlton Hospital, The Ottawa Civic Hospital, The Ottawa General Hospital and the homecare providers from Champlain Care and Community Services, St. Elizabeth Health and Carefor Health for their excellent & compassionate care.
To respect Sylvia’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, instead we will be having a Visitation for family and close friends at the Beechwood Cemetery from 1 to 4 pm on March 27, 2025.
