FORTUGNO (PARKER), Carol – Peacefully, with her family by her side, on Monday, March 3, 2025, in Ottawa, at the age of 79. Loving mother of Gavin (Katherine Facey), Stefano, and Ian (Georgina Stamoulis). Cherished grandmother of Ryder and Austin. Predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Nowell Parker.
Carol embraced life with resilience, wit, and an unmistakable fortitude. She embarked on a new adventure when she left England for Canada 50 years ago, bringing with her a steadfast spirit and a selfless devotion to family. With strength, dry humor, and her ever-present stiff upper lip, she faced life’s challenges head-on, always keeping her boys at the heart of all she did.
A special thank you to Carol’s friends for their unwavering support. The family also wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Hilton and Dr. Douglas.
Family and friends are invited to Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. in Beechwood’s Sacred Space, Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre or the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.

Carole was one of the joys of my old age. We traveled together, shared our faith and talked about absolutely everything! Faith, family and friends were her priorities. Her 'boys', daughter- in- laws and her grandsons were always part of our daily conversations. She loved you all with every fiber of her body and was so proud of what you have become. My heart will always be full when I think of Carole.

Oh I have known Carol for so many years as a co-worker and friend. She had a great ear to listen and chat with. She raised three great boys. I am so lucky to have met Carol and I will miss her greatly. Rest easy X0X0
