With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Carole Joyce Nelson.
She passed away peacefully with her sons by her side. A loving mother to Craig and Rodney (Dacia) and a beloved Grandma to Scott (Cailey), Cory, and Robyn, she was a strong and caring presence in all our lives.
Carole was predeceased by her husband, William Donald "Bud" Nelson, with whom she shared over 50 years of love and partnership. She is survived by her brother, Peter (Deirdre); her nieces, Brandi, Jodi, Sarah, and Gillian; and other family members, Monique (Mike), Amanda (Denis), and Riley.
She had a deep love for animals and was affectionately known as the "Rat Lady" for the many years she spent raising and caring for countless rats. Passionate about sharing her knowledge, she ran online forums, offered care advice, and, in later years, stayed engaged with the world through Social Media. A true night owl, she loved late-night conversations, discussing current events, and keeping up with the latest news. She also had a great appreciation for good food and enjoyed visiting restaurants whenever she could.
We will miss her deeply but are grateful for the time we had with her and the love she shared.
